X-ray, also called roentgen ray, is a kind of ray invisible to the naked eye, but it can make some compounds produce fluorescence or make photographic film sensitive. The reason why X-ray can make human body form image on screen or film is based on the characteristics of X-ray, i.e. its penetrability, fluorescence effect and photographic effect; On the other hand, it is based on differences in density and thickness of human tissue. Because of this difference, the amount of X-rays reaching the screen or film varies as it passes through various tissue structures of the human body. In this way, images of different black-and-white contrasts are formed on the screen or film, such as electronic computed tomography (CT), computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR).
