Good News! Beijing Hamamatsu Won Double Science and Technology Awards

Beijing Hamamatsu Photon Techniques Inc. (BHP) actively responds to national strategy of rejuvenating country through science and education, strengthening country with talents and innovation-driven development, and jointly promoted the industrialization of the project "Manufacture Technology and Industrial Application of Cadmium Tungstate Scintillation(CWO) Single Crystal Materials" with Ningbo University. The project won the second prize of the "Science and Technology Progress Award" issued by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the third prize of the "Science and Technology Progress Award" issued by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government.

The localization of CWO provides a key detection material for the manufacture of X-ray inspection equipment in China, changed the situation of long-term dependence on imports, reduced the purchase cost, and shortened the lead time. BHP not only ensures the high quality but also improve the services. The technical achievement transformation and industrial application of this project was selected by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China as "Excellent Cases of Industry-University-Research in Chinese Universities".

Brief introduction of manufacture technology and industrial application of CWO

CWO is an excellent inorganic scintillation material. It has the characteristics of high density, high atomic number, and low afterglow, strong resistance to irradiation damage, no hygroscopicity and no radioactive background.
