Principle of detection
Luminescent bacteria is a kind of self-luminous bacteria that can emit blue-green light (similar to that of fireflies), and the intensity of luminescence is continuous and stable. Once encountering external adverse factors (heavy metal ions and other toxic substances), they will react “sensitively” and affect their luminescence almost immediately. Usually, the luminescence is inhibited, and the degree of inhibition is related to the concentration of toxic substance and its toxicity. The degree of luminescence inhibition can be easily detected by photoelectric sensor, so that the comprehensive toxicity of the sample can be estimated, among which the fresh water Vibrio Qinghaiensis Q67 is more suitable to detect the acute toxicity of fresh water samples.
