On January 17, 2026, the completion ceremony for the Phase III Project of Beijing Hamamatsu Photonics Technology Co., Ltd. Langfang Branch was successfully held. Centered on the theme “Marching Toward Light”, the ceremony marked the official commissioning of this modern optoelectronics industrial base with a total investment of 300 million yuan, built meticulously over 488 days. From the blueprint laid out at the groundbreaking on July 23, 2024 in midsummer, to the finished facility unveiled this winter, this milestone represents a major leap forward for the company. It fulfills its commitment to “root deeply in Langfang and build a photonics industrial base”, and serves as a vivid annotation for BHP’s 37‑year‑long footprint in China: “Investing in China is investing in the future”.

In 1988, Hamamatsu Photonics introduced photomultiplier tube (PMT) technology into the Chinese market. Over more than three decades, it has grown into a Little Giant enterprise in the optoelectronic materials sector. Its products are widely deployed in critical fields including nuclear medicine, aerospace detection, and oil well logging. The company delivers core technological support and integrated supporting services for domestic industries, continuously underpinning the upgrading of national key industries and public security.

The Langfang Photonics Industrial Base of Hamamatsu Photonics was completed and put into operation in 2005, kicking off its in‑depth development in Langfang. The Phase II project of the base went into production in 2015, establishing BHP as a benchmark enterprise for Langfang’s export‑oriented economy. The newly completed Phase III Project consists of three main buildings: a crystal production building, a module building and a warehouse, with a total construction area of 30,330.78 square meters. Built strictly in line with the construction schedule, the project has fully met its development targets. Once operational, it will bring an additional annual sales revenue of 100 million yuan. It symbolizes BHP’s full transformation from a “technology importer” to an “indigenous innovator”, accelerates the strategic goal of building a “first‑class photonics industrial base in China renowned worldwide”, and injects new momentum into the regional economy.

The completion of BHP’s Langfang Phase III Project marks the successful delivery of promises made before, and also stands as a brand‑new starting point for the journey “Marching Toward Light”. Going forward, the company will continue to uphold its core values: “Photon-led, Persistent Refinement, Customer Success, Openness and Inclusiveness”. Taking Langfang as its core hub, BHP will strengthen technological innovation and industrial collaboration, expand its footprint across the global optoelectronics sector, and contribute further to realizing its vision of a world‑renowned, top‑tier photonics industrial base in China, advancing the upgrade of China’s high-end manufacturing and boosting regional economic growth.
